Registration

Welcome prospective parents! This short guide will tell you how to find out more about Perth Children’s House and what you should do to register.

Perth Children’s House is a nonprofit preschool run by parents that employs the Montessori Method. Young minds are innately eager to learn, and the Montessori experience is designed to work with their natural curiosity.

You can start by reading about Perth Children’s House and the Montessori Method on this web site.

If you are ready to speak with someone to learn more about the program, you can send us a note with your request and a telephone number and we will contact you. Alternatively, you can leave a message with us at (613) 267-5199.

If you like what you hear, you can then call the school and arrange for a tour of the school with the Directrice, to see staff and current students in action. The majority of current parents reported that a school visit was the primary factor in their decision to choose Perth Children’s House.

After the tour, the Directrice will provide you with a pre-registration kit which you can fill out and return to the school. For an upcoming school year, registrations are considered in early April, once the returning students are slotted in. The following documents are available for download (in PDF format) and contain more details about the registration process.

Please note, PCH has a waiting list for enrollment and we therefore encourage you to return the completed registration package as early as possible. Please also be aware that the Montessori Method is a 3 year program that recommends attendance at the school 5 part-days a week. While we recognize not all our students can attend every day of the week, we offer the first available spots on a priority basis to families requesting the largest number of half-days applied for and length of years you intend to stay at PCH for. For example, a registration requesting 6 half-days per week will get priority over another requesting 4 half-days per week; and a family who intends to stay at PCH for 3 full years, rather than 1 year, will also receive priority.
